Sons of Modayil Thazhathekoottu Mathai:

  • Adekavil Pothen (1884-1973) – He was fully immersed in Gospel work and conduct of prayer meetings. He had dedicated his whole life for Evangelistic work. He was a staunch lover of the church and donated land for erecting a Chapel in his home compound. He spent a great deal of time in reading and meditating the Bible. He married Annamma, D/o. Kozhikunnathu Kunju of Nedungadappally. He died on 02-06-1973. They had four sons and five daughters.
  • Eruppackal M M Korah – He completed High School education and was employed in Plantation Estate Service. He married Kunjamma, D/o. Kochuchackochen of Pathinettil Poothiyottu family of Mepral in which they had one son and two daughters. After the death of Kunjamma, he re-married Akkamma of Nalamvelil family in Niranam. She died without any offspring. Thereafter he re-married Mariamma, D/o. Geevarghese of Edayaranmula Mulakkal family in which they had one son and one daughter. M M Korah died on 01-10-1970.
  • Adavimannam Thazhathekoottu M M Mathai (Kochu) – He married Kunjamma , D/o. Kochummachen of Edavamvelil Sankaramangalathu family in Eraviperoor. They had seven sons and three daughters.

Daughters of Modayil Thazhathekoottu Mathai:

  • Kochupennu was married to Geevarghese, B/o. Melukara Kurumthottickal Achen. They are settled in Kurunthottickal house, Eruppackal.
  • Saramma was married to Kochupappy of Edavamvelil family in Eraviperoor.
  • Mariamma was married to Kunjachen of Edavamvelil family.
  • Thandamma died as a spinster.
  • Chinnamma was married to Oommen of Kottakkattu family in Kayamkulam. They settled in Adoor.

Sons of Modayil Melathekoottu Chacko Philip:

  • M C Philip (Philipochen), Melathekoottu – He married Annamma, D/o. Thommachen of Thevarvelil Mattakkal family in Kozhencherry. Philipochen died at the age of 60 and Annamma died at the age of 53. They had three sons and three daughters.
  • Rev. M C Chacko, B.A., B.D. (See Ch.3, Para 30- Pp 73 & 74)- He married Sosamma, D/o. Andrews of Ooramvelil family in Edathua. They had three sons and four daughters.

Daughter of Modayil Melathekoottu Chacko Philip:

  • The only daughter Aliyamma was married to Oommachen of Valakuzhy Mapramballil family in Mallappally. She died without any offspring.

Sons of Modayil Thazhathekoottu Varghese:

  • M P Varghese (Pappy), Modayil Bungalow – He passed Matriculation and commercial practice and started service in Plantation Estate. He retired as Head Clerk. He was honest, sincere, efficient and trustworthy throughout his long period of service. As a special recognition of these commendable qualities he was granted pension by the H & C Company. He married Soosamma (Sosamma), D/o. Abraham Achen of Chempakasseril family in Kallissery, Chengannoor. They had three sons and two daughters.
  • M V Punnose, Modayil (1890-1953) – He was trustee of the St. Thomas CSI church, Nedungadappally and member of the school committee of the church. He was tenderly considerate of the sick and the aged, particularly the poor. He was also a good agriculturist. He married Sosamma, D/o. Koshy of Cheruvettolil family in Nedumprayar. He was an active member of the Mallappally YMCA and member of the Mallappally Union Christian Convention. Sosamma died in 1952. Punnoochen died in 1953. They had four sons and three daughters.
  • M V George – While studying for the final year B.A. in U C College, Alwaye, he married Saramma of Chackalamannil family in Thumpamon. He died without any offspring.
  • Mathew Verghis, Karunalayam – Born on 26-01-1909. Before completing High School education, he got employment in Plantation Estate Service. He studied Dentistry in Miraj Medical School for some time. After some time he stopped Dental practice and took to business and agriculture. He married Mariamma (Amminy), D/o. Unnikunju of Kollamana family in Thiruvalla. Amminy was an accomplished house wife and expert in cooking both vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes and delicacies. They have one son and three daughters.
  • M V Cherian (Baby)- Born on 16-10-1913. After passing SSLC, he started service in the Travancore Forward Bank which subsequently merged with the State Bank of Travancore. He retired in 1973 as Head Cashier. He was reputed for his honesty, efficiency and simplicity. He married Kunjamma (ESLC & TTC), D/o. Idiculachen of Kumbanadu Valiaveettil family in Eraviperoor. She retired as Headmistress of Eraviperoor girl’s UP School. They have one son and one daughter.

Daughters of Modayil Thazhathekootu Varghese:

  • Pennamma was married to A P Philip of Alummoottil family in Kottayam. They settled in Ponkunnam.
  • Mariamma was married to Pappy of Arikupurathu family in Mannar. She died without any offspring.
  • Sosamma was married to M O Ninan of Marettu family in Kallooppara.
  • Annamma was married to N A Philp (Unni), Nellickal family in Ranny.

Sons of Modayil Pothen (Jr.):

  • P M Thomas, B.A.L.T. – He graduated from the U C College, Alwaye and started as a Teacher in CMSHS, Mallappally. He was Head Master of the CMS HS, Mallappally and CMS HS, Nedungadappally. He was an Ex- President of the Modayil Kudumbayogam and trustee of the CSI Church, Nedungadappally. He married Saramma (Ammukutty), D/o. Nedungadappallil N E Varghese Vakil, Ex. MLC.

Daughters of Modayil Pothen (Jr.):

  • Kunjamma was married to C M Thomas of Chalakuzhy family in Thiruvalla
  • Kunjootty was married to K V Varghese of Kumbanadu Plammoottil family.
  • Annamma was married to Eapen of Thachedathu family in Kavumbhagom, Thiruvalla.
  • Saramma was married to V J Thomas of Vavolickal family in Kangazha.
  • Sosamma was married to P Pappy of Pannathandil, Karuvatta.
